I know the posts on the old blogaroni have been few and far between lately. Things have been busy, busy, busy here. Deadlines to meet, teacher gifts to plan, school talent shows to organize (…did I mention I’m in charge of that? No idea what I was thinking, so don’t ask. But the kids are adorable, even when belting off-key songs from High School Musical 2.)
The school year has reached those frenzied last few weeks. I think they do that on purpose – make the last weeks as insanely jam-packed crazy as possible – to give us a false sense of relief when it’s over. And then the next day when we wake up and go, crud – what am I going to do with all these kids home for the next 2 ½ months??, the teachers have already locked their doors and gone into hiding. Not that I don’t love having my kids home for the summer. Really. Some of my best family memories are of summer days at the beach…
…or the water
park, or just playing board games in our jammies on the family room floor until
lunchtime. But there is that feeling of being a ringmaster at the circus, trying
to keep all the acts properly orchestrated every day so the wild animals don’t stage
an uprising and chase me out of the tent while pelting me with peanuts.
Or maybe that's just me.
Anyhow, just wanted to pop in and say that I am not suffering from blognesia, just trying to stay one step ahead of my very full calendar. Hopefully I’ll be back to more regularly scheduled ramblings soon.
