Thanks to the
fabulous Stacy Julian, I had lots of new visitors to my blog yesterday, and
many much appreciated compliments on my studio and my idea binder.
I also had lots
of emails with questions about where I got stuff. I thought I would post some
of the answers here, in case others were wondering the same things.
The color on my
walls is a custom blend from Benjamin Moore. After going through about 1500
swatches (okay, it really might have only been 20 or 30) and trying some different
colors on the wall, I just wasn’t finding exactly what I wanted, which was a
green that looked like (the now discontinued) Bazzill celery cardstock. How’s
that for a run-on sentence? Anyhow, I finally just took a sheet of cardstock to
the paint store and they matched it. Another bonus was that a 12x12 sheet of
cardstock gave me a much better idea of what it would look like on the wall
than one of those little 1x2 paint chips.
My idea binder,
tabs, and pocket pages were all purchased from Russell + Hazel. The inspiration
categories on my tabs are: layouts, colors, journaling, patterns,
projects/gifts, photos, bows/barrettes, and misc. crafts.
The flower on my door came from Paper Source. I don't see them on the site at the moment, but I bought mine in-store early last spring. I'm guessing they'll probably have more this spring.
The metal spinner
for my ribbon jars came from a company called Kung’s Trading, out of San Francisco. I ordered mine at CHA
a couple of years ago, but I think you can order through their website if you
are so inclined. The acrylic candy jars came from Stacks and Stacks.
My cabinet knobs
and drawer pulls came from my local Expo store and Van Dyke's Restorers. I
honestly cannot remember which ones came from which place. My glass doorknob is
from Van Dyke’s.
My Library of
Memories drawers are from Staples.com, per Stacy’s recommendation. I got the
5x7 size because I wanted the flexibility of putting larger prints in there. They
did stick a bit at first, but my handy hubby was able to tweak something inside
and now they are just fine.
Thank you
everyone – you are great for a girl’s ego! And thank you Stacy for just being
awesome!
Edited with more info:
Paint specifics: Benjamin Moore Regal Premium Interior Latex paint in Matte Finish. The can says "Medium Base 221 2B". If you are looking to replicate my exact color, the formula is S-17-06.
My acrylic paper trays: Display Dynamics. I have the stacking trays on my table, and the peg-able trays on my wall. I don't know if they sell to the public or are wholesale only - I bought mine at a trade show way back in 2002 (pre-studio when I was scrapping in a dinky corner of my loft!). Scrapbook.com carries the stacking ones here.
The shelves over my desk are also from Ballard.
